I mostly kept up with my 2018 Scrapbook, which was a surprise! I've tried to personalize it a bit this time around but I'm not sure about anything I've made for it. I expect an overhaul at some point.

welp, long time no post over here. I only really use this journal to comment and to sporadically update the scrapbook (which I still need to review for late May!), and post all my icons over at holyinterruptus whenever I get the time to compile everything.
On the personal front... Work is exhausting and this project I've been on for the last month is so damn stressful + we're literally about to turn it in. I have very little free time and inspiration.

I am cross-posting this to my journal, since that's where all my icons were posted in 2018. I also felt it was time to update this, since I've been so damn busy with work and many personal things.

I was part of bestof_icons and its activities for its 2018 cycle these past few months. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and/or vote for any of my icons! It was truly interesting learning what icons people liked the most. I am generally quite critical of what I make and can't choose which ones I'd like most, so reading the nice comments people made and all that was slightly overwhelming.

I finally decided to start posting on that comm I created months ago! I previously used for tests but I decided it'd be better suited to post icons. I used to post icons to my comm in my other life/LJ, eight-nine years centuries ago. Feel free to join or watch or not! :)

I've been working on these icons for over three weeks, and if it were for me, I'd keep going until the deadline, lol. I decided to post them because I had waaaay too many already and it was becoming harder to choose which ones I would use. I'm not sure I'm happy with them, either. I only know I'm exhausted from work and have little inspiration lately. (Things are going okay, I guess? I've just been taking online courses and will start the actual job in the next couple of days. I'm terrified.)

I'll hopefully work on getting a couple quick challenges done over the next few days 🤞 Hope you all are doing great! Wish I had more time to be around (and let me know if I missed any big posts from you I should check out!).

More self-promotion!

Some personal news: I have been pretty absent this week because I started working and, even if I'm only doing only programming courses in a language I hadn't worked with before, I'm pretty beat by the time I get home. Good thing I have made a bunch of Bingo icons for monthlyinspo (I just need to be happy with them and/or make another 20. Probably find the combos that look nicest) so I'm not super behind. Look for them over at holyinterruptus in the next couple of weeks. I could've sworn the deadline was Jan 25 (it seemed too short) but I'm happy it got moved back. What I'm trying to say -- I'll vote in all the polls so far over the weekend, hopefully, and I'd appreciate if you voted in my poll. I'll be voting in all the open ones this afternoon.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or not but here we go. Another chance for me to ramble about my icons! To actually select a few of my own favorites... Yikes. (As we might be about to find out, imposter syndrome runs deep within me.) Most icons look plain weird/bad in my new computer so I might sound more insecure than usual.

I'm posting this here vs. holyinterruptus because that would be the 2019 space, I'm guessing. I think it's easier to watch a comm than to friend someone because that's how I am too.
I'll slowly add some commentary to the icons (hover for that) and whatever links might be missing. Some thoughts/month context under the spoiler tag. It was hard to choose just a handful of historamedy icons to put in here but oh well. Here we go...

I wanted to give a shoutout to itsabattlefield, which is a wonderful little community with weekly challenges/battles. (I could explain how it works but you can check out the different types over here or simply read the instructions for any of the latest challenges. It's very easy.) I feel as if a good percentage of the icons I've made in the second half of the year were for this community -- certainly a couple of my favorite icons I've made this year were a result of some battle. What I'm saying... The more members, the merrier :) Come join in the fun!

p.p.s I wanna see if I can make an icon progression post. Seeing how much I'm struggling to choose five icons per maker over and my growing imposter syndrome... It should be fun! (In truth, my brother leaves for uni tomorrow and I've been trying to spend more time with him.)

[+]The icons tag is listed in the thread but if you want to make it super challenging, these are most of my own favorites. Thinking about which one I would choose for myself has made me think about how I use many caps over and over in slightly different ways. I would love to keep making more! (Though, fair warning: I'm going away for a couple of days, so I might take longer.)
